Bald Mountain Chardonnay 2019
The Bald Mountain lies three miles inland and 1000 feet above the Pacific Ocean, atop a gentle slope of bright white Zayante sands. The 30 year-old own-rooted vines yield tiny crops of about a ton per acre. This wine was fermented and aged for 12 months sur lie in barrel with 25% new oak (Barrel Maker: Damy, Forest: Allier, Toast: Long Light) and then spent six months aging sur lie in stainless steel. Delicate aromas of white citrus flower and stone fruit are framed by a racy line of mouthwatering acidity and a long mineral finish that is hallmark for this incredible site.
